My comments on tutoring GED : never took it but am very familiar with the material

Whatever works best for the student. I understand that everyone learns best in their own way so I am very flexible to what works best for each students' needs.
To be honest I do not have any professional experience tutoring. However, throughout my entire educational career I have always been able to grasp material before my classmates and hence help them grasp the material themselves. GED is one of my top subjects! I was a volunteer GED math and science teacher at a local community center for 2 years before I moved away for college. I also took the GED myself and was almost entirely self-taught before college. Adult learners have a special place in my heart.

I like to meet students where they're at and adjust my teaching methods based on what their aspirations and needs are.
I was not offered very many educational opportunities in my youth, but in 2016 I chose to try my hand at being an autodidact (a self-taught person). Within 3 years I went from not knowing basic arithmetic to mastering calculus 2, became a volunteer teacher, scored a 32 on the ACT, and got accepted into Ohio State University as a physics and astrophysics double major. I'm now a senior getting ready to graduate with my undergraduate degree.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching adults as well as high school students. I do not have much training teaching below junior high; however, I am confident that I could successfully teach math or language. Although, I don't mind the traditional classroom setting, I am quite used to instructing on a one-to-one basis. Our GED programs are completely individualized for learners to move at their own pace, and I encourage this type of teaching style when manageable. Many of the students/adults that I have worked with have a learning disability of some sort, but I feel that I learn from each student just as much as they are learning from me.
