I do enjoy helping anyone write a well developed and educated paper on the topic at hand. My specific style of teaching, especially for the 8th grade, is to read the current book being used, and then present my lesson with lecture, interactive discussion and comprehension, based on the age and grade of the student. I like to put the lesson into terms that the age group can relate to, and then assign a memory technique that will teach the students to recall the proper answer by using the examples we have discussed in class. That is the same method that I use myself when I need to write a paper. I read it, analyze it, comprehend it, and then write a paper based on what I can relate it too. As an undergraduate student I was preparing for a career in Forensic Science. I have 14 years laboratory experience including 3 years at IBM's Material Analysis Lab. Besides coursework I have experience in writing lab reports and designing experiments. I have made a career out of science.
Through college I worked with many students in Organic Chemistry. The first thing I teach students is preparation. Many students have a tendency to put off studying until the night before an exam. Organic Chemistry is one of the first classes where student needs to develop a study schedule. Second I emphasize the fundamental concepts. The content is too much to memorize and students become overwhelmed. Third I teach attitude. There is a point when students realize their potential. The point where "this class is too hard" turns into not being afraid of a challenge.
