I went to school at Miami University in Oxford, OH. I have a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Education. I hold a Master's Degree in Education, with a Spanish major, from Ball State. I am an experienced teacher and I love to work with people. I began my career at Richmond Senior High School in Richmond, IN, and finished it at the middle school level. I hold a teaching license for grades 5 - 12.

I enjoy working with children of all ages. I have a son with a learning disability whom I am now home-schooling. I realize that patience is key when teaching. However, I also feel that children do best when they are presented with a challenge. I use a great deal of encouragement and incentive to help a child achieve his/her goals. 2 years ago when I quit teaching Spanish I thought I did not want to teach again, but when I was called upon to do a semester long subbing stint in a high school Emotionally Disturbed unit, all my original feelings for teaching came back. I love teaching and I love kids. They give me energy. I realized that I was meant to teach, just not Spanish. Special Education is definitely my calling.
