Since graduating from college, I have engaged locally in the areas of insurance and financial services, selling and servicing all available products to a growing customer base. This was accomplished by active communication combined with advanced product knowledge dealing with a range of clients from various ages and backgrounds.
After assessing the individual's current knowledge of a particular subject matter, a review of the topic's basic rules would follow. The next procedure would involve passage reading and comprehension followed by implementation by putting "pen to paper". Go over the basics and then assisted practice to see short comings in understanding. Address the shortcomings and make sure the student understands thorough further practice. Every student is different, I will try and work with each student to see what style works best. I will also be open to feedback and address any specific issues that go along with learning the particular subject. I can think of little else that is more rewarding that teaching. It is so wonderful to share knowledge and help another realize how powerful the willingness to learn can be - it can take you anywhere.
