A Little Bit About Me...

I consider myself to be a "beginner" teacher as I have recently graduated college and received my license. I have spent roughly 500 hours in the field as a result of college course requirements, and I have successfully completed a 12 week internship (student teaching) experience. I have had the opportunity to work in many different subject areas and classroom settings with students of various backgrounds, ages, and learning styles.
I try to take a hands-on approach to teaching when possible. I find it helpful to use varied and often unusual objects and materials when teaching a lesson; it tends to make the material more memorable. However I am not above using the standard pencil/paper/textbook approach when needed.

I spent 40 years in as a professional in workforce development assisting youth and adults to make educational, professional and career decision. I have written grants to bring in millions of dollars for the state of Ohio and citizens. I have worked as a substitute in Columbus and served for five years as an Ohio Reads tutor in the Columbus and Groveport schools. Since retirement, I have worked with youth in the Americorp and WIA programs as an advisor and program evaluator. I also have experience with dispute resolution and public relations.
