American History is one of my top subjects!

I have been teaching since 2005. My career began in Las Vegas, Nevada teaching 7th grade U.S. History at Sedway Middle School followed by Hyde Park Middle School (2005-2010). I have 2+ years teaching 11th grade AP and Honors U.S. History at Southwest Career and Technical Academy (2010-2012). My experience also includes teaching various social studies classes online at Beacon Academy of Nevada (2008-2011). My teaching style is best described as Project based and differential instructions. I do not believe that students learn the same ways and need different teaching strategies to learn. After returning to Ohio Dominican University to complete my certification to teach science, I was a long term substitute teacher and tutor in several central Ohio school districts. In 2005 I took a position as a Science/Math teacher in a remote Eskimo village in the Alaskan bush until 2010. During my tenure in Alaska I had the opportunity to teach and tutor all age groups ranging from first grade to adult and covering subjects that included all sciences and math to social studies and language arts.
