My comments on tutoring Biology : Human Biology is what I love, and would be able to show your student how to understand both the human and other types of biological studies

In my years of education, I found that some of the methods used for teaching these subjects were inadequately explained, therefore causing students not to truly understand how to apply mathematics and science in school and their every day life. I have learned how to tutor in these subjects from raising my own children, all of whom found these subjects to be hard until I showed them how to avoid the pitfalls of our educations system. All of my kids were A students and are now in college, none of them now have a hard time understanding the subjects and are excelling in their own lives.
I am a hands on type of a tutor, I start from the basics and work my way up to their current subjects, so that they can build on a good foundation, understanding the basics is the most critical step to understanding the complexities of Algebra and above, and how the sciences start to get more complex ... read more

Enthusiastic learner and tutor!

With respect to tutoring, I worked during the summer of 2009 as a teachers assistant for a summer-school program known as Korea Poly. The students were 3-6th graders and required assistance in completing homework and practicing and refining their English writing and speaking skills. My duties included checking and correcting homework assignments, and being available during the homework hours for questions and help. In addition I have been the recipient of tutoring before, so I am familiar with student considerations and concerns when it comes to having a tutor.

My name is Maria Francesca, and I may be the ideal tutor for you! I am a nutrition student at Arizona State University on my last semester of studies and native Italian. I lived in Italy all my life and now that I moved in USA I would be happy to help you to learn my language. As part of my work, I tutor students in Italian Language (including reading, vocabulary and writing). and test prep (GED, GRE, SHSAT, SAT). Besides tutoring, I also have a lot of work experience as a substitute teacher and teaching assistant in various classrooms. I have experience with students of all ages, and grade of knowledge. In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student, and concrete experiences in addition to worksheets. However, my specific methods vary according to the subject being taught and the learning style of the stude ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I find that students have their own unique style of learning. I also believe that by establishing a solid set of study skills while catering to individual techniques of the student, the learning process can grow and thrive. Therefore, I would combine my training in theatre and performance to make learning an enjoyable process. I have a very kind and patient disposition which helps foster a supportive learning environment. The most rewarding education comes from self-discovery and I firmly believe that the best teaching comes from this principle.
At this point in my professional career, I currently do not have any experience teaching in a formal classroom environment. However, my experience does extend into performance education, as I have three years experience working for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in which I increased participation of general visitor and school ... read more

I feel that my patience, attentiveness, and ability to relate to specific students help me with my style of tutoring. My patience helps me to be persistent even if a student is unable to grasp a concept immediately after explaining it to them. I understand that many students learn in many different ways. In order to overcome this factor one has to be patient and understand how to make a student want to learn. In order to understand a student it's necessary to pay close attention to what helps them learn and what doesn't. The only way to do this is to listen well and instead of thinking about you're going to say next, listen first to what the student has to say. By these means I have been able to successfully understand a person and have been able to teach them in a more successful manner.
I have helped many students with various subjects in which I specialize. I've aided peopl ... read more

I believe a good educational experience is an essential part of academic success. I also believe that not every individual learns the same way and that teaching methods should be adjusted to meet their needs when possible. I am dependable, thorough, and patient and understand that learning can be a frustrating experience. I teach by trying to find a way to make the subject at hand interesting and engaging and through examples. Academic success can require hard work but it should also be an enjoyable experience for students. A Little Bit About Me...

I always try to ask the student what they think they are weak in. Always try to change the teaching method so that the student does not fall in a routine every session. They sometimes decide on doing, for example, in math, inventing their own equation and participating in their own learning.
I have been teaching and tutoring students for over 10 years. I teach students up to grade 12. I have been working in Canada as a tutor and worked with dyslexic students as well. I taught math and excelled myself with a high gpa up to grade 12.
