My public speaking class is extremely participatory, both so students can gain experience speaking in front of an audience and because this format seems to keep students more interested in the material. My experience teaching children in theatre was also very participatory. I believe that students learn best when they can understand a given concept from several different angles. Once they start to understand problem solving then they do not only improve in the course that I am tutoring them in but in their other courses as well.
