As an undergraduate at Slippery Rock University, I was approached by my adviser and chair-person in Physics to tutor their physics classes. I accepted their offer and within the two years of tutoring physics I enjoyed helping fellow students learn and understand the concepts of physics. Also, while helping others I could use the knowledge I have learned in previous classes and gain a better understanding of the field of physics. I am currently in the 3-2 Physics/Engineering program between Penn State and Slippery Rock studying Electrical Engineering. I have recently completed the first 3 years at Slippery Rock and in the fall will be attending Penn State University. I have completed up to 300 and some 400 level classes in Physics and Math at Slippery Rock.

I am currently a mid-career scientist who is looking to transition into the teaching profession. I have tutored high school and college students for several years in chemistry, algebra, physics, and geometry. I have a BS in Chemistry and have taken additional coursework in chemistry and education. I have extensive experience as a chemist working in the laboratory, and have several published research articles in the field.
My goal in teaching is to help students understand how the scientific process affects them on a personal level. I try to connect science and mathematics to the world around them by helping them to understand science in the context of other disciplines, including art and politics.
