Japanese is one of my top subjects!

Hello! Hajimemashite! I recently returned (June 2018) from my study abroad at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, or APU! I studied and lived there for about three years. My major was in Asia Studies and Japanese Culture, Society and Media. I was able to get an equivalent of N3 on the JLPT(Japanese Language Proficiency Test). While i'm not natively "fluent”, I was able to live and navigate daily life independently. I was also a TA for multiple classes while I attended my own curriculum. Learning Japanese and about Japanese culture has always been a passion of mine and I hope I can share some tips and tricks I learned to help pick up the language more easily.

I graduated from high school with honors from a school that never pushed the effectiveness of attending college to students. I maintained my focus and attended Virginia State University in the fall of 2006. My mother was my inspiration, so much that I ventured towards science as my field of study. I am a William and Mary graduate with a BS in Chemistry, with several years of programming experience from developing my own computer games. In addition I performed laboratory research at the College of William and Mary for a thesis and have 2 years of experience tutoring in Elementary Spanish, Computer Science, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.
My teaching style is very simple, but effective. I merely talk to the student to find out where he or she is having difficulty, and work to find ways to remedy the problem.
