A Little Bit About Me...

I have learned through teaching this year that students can sometimes be very frustrating. Through this experience I have learned to be very patient with students and always try to be understanding. I always try to make myself available to them. I am so happy when students accomplish their goals. I hope to gain more experience in teaching and would really enjoy this experience.
I am currently working on Masters degree in Chemistry at SUNY Oswego. I hope to graduate December, 2009. I have my BS degree from Suny Oneonta and graduated a year ago. I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology from SUNY Oswego. I also have my Master's degree from SUNY Oswego. During this time I taught lab classes, as well as doing research. During this same time, I worked part-time as a lab instructor at LeMoyne College. Since then, I have been working on a PhD at Syracuse University. I have continued teaching labs at SU, as well as doing chemistry research. I have taught general chemistry lab, organic chemistry lab and general chemistry recitations.
I encourage students to ask a lot of questions about the material they do not understand. The student has already heard the lecture from the teacher or professor, so I feel there is not much point to just repeating the lecture. I have earned my bachelors degree in Biotechnology. I will be finishing my masters in education May 16, 2010. I am pending a teaching certification in Chemistry and Biology which should be granted September 1, 2010. I have worked with all different age groups.
