My goal is to find the best way for an individual to learn.

I have worked with young people tutoring elementary and high school subjects as well as being a public school teacher for over 10 years. I have been a nanny for highly intelligent young people as well as those on the autism spectrum. My most recent success was with a 1st-2nt grader in reading and rebuilding self confidence.

As a parent, I was able to finish my degree in 2003 and return back to college as an adult student. Being a parent as well as a teacher for five years, I saw that the experience of parenting firsthand before actually teaching in the classroom was very beneficial. I love the youth and the teens, and was hired as a Language Arts teacher for a junior high private school for the last five years. I taught English, writing skills, religion, and Literature. I have several degrees and a teaching certification in Art. I have learned a great deal about designing and working with youth. I believe that learning can be fun and creative, which is why my approach to teaching often involves the use of visuals and hands on projects to reinforce subject matter. Having been a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader for almost 20 years, I hold a special place in my heart for children and teenagers.
