As a graduate of a sound Liberal Arts College, I've learned that the greatest asset I took away with me was the art of communication. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in Creative Writing and Spanish. I have written essays upon essays, from creative short-stories to my fifty-page senior thesis, and would love to continue working in a position which allows me to use my hard-earned tools.
As a recent graduate, I have the unique skill of relating to students on their own level. I love listening to their needs and assessing the situation with great care and concern. I have been working with preschool to high school age students since 2004. I have always had tutoring positions, whether it was for my peers in college, volunteering for the Salvation Army, or running after school programs after graduating. I am a PA certified tutor, with conflict resolution, mentor, and CERT training (Community Emergency Rescue Team). A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach and to see the students actually understanding the concept and putting the context into action. I try to teach the big picture first - if the student understands why they need the subject and how it will benefit them in their future, it makes the learning relevant. I am personable and down to earth, making examples at the students level. I try to keep the learning real.
While in high school, I was a certified adult literacy tutor. Since I've had children, I have been an active volunteer in their classes - preschool through elementary school.
