I have earned an MBA with a concentration in finance, which has given me a solid understanding of financial concepts. I also have a certificate in accounting, which provided me with an excellent understanding of accounting principles that ultimately helped me pass the CPA exam and become a licensed CPA. In addition to my formal education, I was a Marine Corps officer for nine years. I was able to develop an understanding of human behavior and apply this understanding to provide training and instruction to ensure those under my supervision where able to fully carry out their assigned duties.

I have a Master of Accounting degree from Virginia Tech, where I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant. I taught Accounting, Finance and Business Math for two years at the undergraduate level after graduation. I am a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of accounting and finance experience. Although I have no formal teaching degree, I feel that I would be an excellent tutor. First, I have successfully trained many employees over the years. Second, my two sons, ages 21 and 19 graduated numbers 2 and 1 in their high school classes, respectively. Now, both are "straight A" students at the University of Tennessee. Here, I feel that I have lead by example. Finally, my personality, while being friendly and patient, is also that of a highly motivated "over achiever" who loves to help others.
