Chess is one of my top subjects! I can teach students anywhere from beginner up to those starting serious tournament play.

I prefer to work with students one on one, getting a sense of their skill level, and then engaging with them where they are at to help them work towards their own personal goals.
I have been playing chess for close to seven years, many of those at the tournament level. I was a natural when I started, and have only grown in my concepts of the logic and theory of the game. I am also a published author, and can easily teach any student to understand writing in new ways so that they can improve not only the accuracy but the style of their writing.

I am a 25 year coporate professional in Accounting and Banking. My Bachelors' degree is in Managament and I have a minor in Accounting. I was responsible to train all the new Accounting hires at IBM. Additionally, I trained 2 Accounting supplementals. Each year now for 5 years in the summer months, I take battlefield walks with the National Park Rangers at Gettysburg. Also, I have a personal interest since 2 of my relatives served in the Civil War. In addition, I have been a member of the harrisburg civil war roundtable for 4 years. Later, as a homeschooling mother of four, I taught all of my children all subjects through the eighth grade level. I just returned from the island of Saipan, where I taught high school English in a private school, and seventh grade English in a public school. I presently am a certified substitute teacher in the Cumberland County, PA, public school system, where I teach almost all grade levels and subjects.
