I am a person who likes to teach one on one. I like to find what the student's interest is and tailor their teaching to that. Tutoring my fellow classmates was an integral part of my college experience. At Yuba College, I tutored math and chemistry in the College Success Center for two school years. I was in demand, as even fellow tutors would seek my help. I was also requested by my physics professor to tutor physics in the Hard Math Cafe on campus. While at UCI, where I graduated Cum Laude with a mathematics degree, I would often help fellow students, even during the professor's office hours when the professor was busy with another student. For the past 10 years, I have worked in my community, helping to better the lives of children. At age 15, I began mentoring young girls and volunteering for a non-profit organization, counseling developmentally delayed children and at-risk youth. I later went on to become a Behavioral Therapist, educating children with autism. My love for children (and passion for education) was the determining factor in the course of my college career.
