I enjoy teaching mathematics and biology. If the student is willing to learn in some fashion I can help him or her. I tend to teach by examples for mathematics and for biology I teach in a lecture style, answering questions in-depth when necessary. In both fields I can give in-depth explanations for concepts. Specifically in mathematics, deriving proofs is especially easy for me and could be useful for those students that wish to see the "why" of certain equations.

My teaching method is to use the principle approach. Each academic subject has foundational principles that make up that subject’s core. To master a subject, a student must understand these principles and then see them expand as the student progresses through a subject. I believe students can be taught problem-solving skills, organizational skills and character-building principles through every subject. A Little Bit About Me...

During my undergrad studies at UWRF, I was sponsored to become a tutor in the Writing Center on campus. There was a prerequisite practicum, but it was very hands-on learning. I worked with students from a variety of backgrounds (ESL, freshman comp, MS candidates, etc). At Metro State I participated in a semester program teaching English in Puerto Rico, for which I received the ESL certification. I also TA'd for Writing and Designing for the Web.
I am a very adaptable teacher--I can easily pick up on a student's needs and abilities, and work to their strengths in that way. I enjoy not only helping them learn, but also their backstory and considering how it affects their learning style. I also have an innate love of learning, and feel that it's a great gift to help someone realize their own potential.
