Psychology Professor/Reading Specialist

Over 25 years of teaching experience (all grade levels ~ from preschool to university graduate level courses). I enjoy tutoring, as it allows me to work one-on-one with a student to best assess their strengths and weaknesses in order to help them reach their goals. My doctoral work in Educational Psychology has given me a unique advantage in incorporating learning theory with applied teaching techniques. As a lifelong student and advocate of learning, I achieved a GPA of 3.75 upon returning to university classes as an older adult. I have many years of working in business, coaching and mentoring in several fields, which include accounting and business practices, such as customer service. While attending college, my happiest moments arrived with exceptional grades on research and theory papers. In the team environment, I am usually the "editor" since it comes so naturally.

Education has always been extremely important to me. To me there is no greater feeling than finally grasping a difficult concept and I love helping someone else achieve that feeling. Consistently during grade school, high school, and college, other students came to me for help with their schoolwork and I enjoyed providing them with a new perspective, or recapping the teacher’s lecture.
