I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. My daughter is now in the 8th grade and tests at the college level in reading and high school levels at most other subjects.

Kate has always had a block toward anything mathematic. She had one course between her and graduation, college algebra! Is she simply bored with the subject? The approach I take with the child depends on the answers to these questions.
