A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is has proven to work with many students. The most important issue with tutoring is to identify where the student has the most difficulty. There are many ways to present material, such as discussion, visual effects and hands-on. What I have learned is that many people can learn through more than one way of teaching. It is important to go at there pace and reinforce the information they have already learned. I love teaching and it shows in my presentation and my tone of voice. A Little Bit About Me...

I find it rewarding to teach children and adults the necessary skills that allow them to obtain full English literacy. One of the greatest accomplishments in the course of the educational process is the acquisition of full, quality literacy; it is the foundation. My teaching philosophy involves connecting with individual students. One of my strengths is identifying strong points in a student’s performance and teaching him to tap into successful facets of his/her performance. In English, I was trained in (and advocate) “Faulkner English” as developed by Claude Faulkner and taught at the University of Arkansas. This method employs a certain amount of deconstruction of sentences, beginning with the most simple, and can be geared to any level. In French, I do use some repetition, and, yes, memorizing conjugations, as a means of making material available to the student.
