Online Math Tutor

I only teach online on an hourly basis. When I teach I don't just answer the questions my students ask of me rather let them understand it for themselves. Also, I encourage them to think and analyze too so that I would know where they are weak. I also develop their interest in learning the subject . That being said, I make learning fun and appealing.

Making difficult concepts in Math easier to understand!

My teaching style begins with a calm and relaxed attitude. Once the student has established what he/she is having trouble with, I start going over some examples of exercises from their book. I explain, step by step, how to approach a problem or equation. Many times I will write down instructions and/or use examples. I have patience. It’s alright with me if I have to explain it several times for the student to understand the concept. I always use positive reinforcement with my students. I find that the best way to tutor is to use a combination of different methods. For example, I think that pictures/ball and stick structures, reading materials, and having a discussion about the question at hand are all useful and important ways to completely understand Chemistry. I am an extremely patient person, and I believe it is imperative to understand one topic before moving to the next. I like to prepare extra handouts and materials for my students, because I find that presenting material in as many ways as possible is the best way fully grasp the concept.

Experienced Tutor

I began tutoring my freshman year of high school. For my fours year of high school I worked at Kumon Learning Center in Los Angeles. Here, I learned a lot of my tutoring experience. I worked with children from the ages of 5 to 17. I helped these children in math from kindergarten math all the way up to calculus, and then in reading and reading comprehension skills from the younger kindergarteners to younger high schoolers. I enjoy working with children and try to teach children in a fun way so they do not become bored and can learn to really understand and grasp concepts. I also enjoy working with teenagers and am confident that I can help all high schoolers with different subjects they struggle with. The reason why I left Kumon Learning Center is because I moved down to San Diego to begin my freshman year of college, so I am now looking forward to continue my tutoring career down here.

My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : I am presently teaching this in Middle School.

I am passionate about teaching and spend most of my free time, creating curriculum that will excite and engage my students. I firmly believe that it is my responsibility to identify the strength of my students, as well as make them unafraid of their weaknesses.
