As an undergraduate, I became a chemistry tutor for two high school students in my junior and senior years. This experience led me to return to college for post-baccalaureate work in order to receive certification in the state of Maryland for education in chemistry. Additionally, I received a physics minor which benefited me greatly when I began my educational career in Maryland teaching various levels of high school chemistry and introduction to chemistry and physics for 7 years. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that every child has a right to learn. I believe that, no matter what kind of problem or learning disability that student has, that he/she deserves to learn. It is the responsibility, not only of the teacher, but the parents, grandparents, siblings and community to help children receive the best education that they can. I believe that all children learn differently. Some learn through doing; some through listening; others are a combination. I teach to each child in the way that best helps them to learn.
While completing my masters in Special Education, I have learned creative ways to help children with special needs that I work with. I have designed and coordinated a Resource Center to help students with special needs learn and achieve at their level. I have also designed and implemented a school for children with special needs.
