I am 23 years old and strive for excellence constantly. I currently have two jobs and a child. I work hard for my family and make sure that I do my best in everything that is put in front of me. I have made it through high school and college. I have worked with younger children as well as older children. I like to be challenged and will learn with anyone and everyone I work with.
I have many ways of teaching. I like to make the experience rewarding, fun and educational. As I continue to work with others I find their strengths and weaknesses and do the best I can to make the experience fun and as stress free as possible. I know that it can be tough learning new subjects, however, if you put your mind to it, there is always a way. I use games, activities and also outside projects to learn as much as possible.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with all children. During the past twenty years, I had the opportunity to work with very diverse students from kindergarten to 6th grade. Given the right instruction, I believe that all students can learn. As a reading specialist, I have seen students go from struggling readers to confident readers. By working with these students and seeing their lives change; I know I make a difference.
I believe that all teachers should be life-long learners. All teachers should be informed on new best practices and be knowledgeable of current educational policies. These are the reasons that I belong to TESOL and the International Reading Association. I love teaching and working with students of all ages. I particularly enjoy watching a student's eyes light up after catching on to something new. I know all students learn in different ways, but I believe most people learn best when they are relaxed and enjoying themselves. I also believe it is important, especially for math, tasks be completed multiple times for the ideas to really be remembered. I believe making students explain the material to someone else is an effective way to gauge understanding. Most importantly, I truly care about students as people.
