I have approximately ten years of teaching experience including employment as an adjunct instructor in a college-level Intensive English Program, a business education teacher in a large public high school and a junior-high English teacher at a small Christian school. I also homeschooled my two older children during their 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade years. All children can learn, but it is my job, as a teacher, to figure out which learning style suits each particular child. Once you find that learning style, I always find that the students enjoy learning. Learning can be (and should be) enjoyed. I want my students to know that there is not just one set way of doing things. I am also a firm believer in positive reinforcement. I look for positive aspects in every student, and I praise that student for their hardwork and dedication.
I graduated Athens State University in 2005 with a BS in Elementary Education (K-6). After graduation, I became a substitute teacher for six months. In 2006 I was hired on by Decatur City Schools.
