Between the years of 1978 and 1984 I was a monitor and then a supervisor in a small Christian school using the ACE curriculum. They have various programmed learning booklets teaching all of the major subjects. You are actually more of a tutor than a teacher if you work with these booklets. I have experience in the four major areas of learning which are English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. I was with students from first through twelfth grade. While I was college I had occasion to take two years of college level English and also statistics up through 600 level. The English helped when I was writing my Master’s Thesis, it was 120 pages long. My committee found it to be well written. The statistics was the basis for the thesis.

After graduating from Niagara University, I was hired as a 7-12 English teacher at Morrisville-Eaton Central School District. I have taught there for 34 years,until retiring in 2010. I have taught grades 7-12, working with students from all walks of life. Although my BS degree is in Computer Science, I have taken (and passed!) courses in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering - which means I have learned a lot of advanced math. My work as a software developer required writing "white papers" to explain and describe our software as well as test documents that would allow a person unfamiliar with our software to sit down and formally test it. I started off college at Mohawk Valley Community College and earned a Liberal Arts and Science degree. I feel that all college students should be well rounded and should take a wide variety of courses. I then enrolled at Utica College to finish my BS degree. Over those two years, I took 18 science courses and most of them were accompanied by labs. It was stressful and difficult but it was something I was determined to complete.
