I have helped tutor since I was a freshman in high school. I began working with kindergarteners through third grade students on reading and writing. Throughout my sophomore year of high school I tutored middle school math students (ages 11-14) and helped to train our "Mathalon" team. My junior and senior years of high school I mostly helped biology students prepare for the regents exams, as well as continued in the after school reading program for kindergarteners and preschoolers. In college I began tutoring many students for the spanish regents exam and continued helping others prepare for their biology and chemistry regents exams. Biology is one of my top subjects! I have a bachelor of science degree in Biology, and it's been my favorite subject since grade school. It's the study of life, all things living, and everything that comes together to create our world! Genetics, ecology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, cellular biology, the body systems... it can all be extremely interesting, and I enjoy teaching as much as I enjoyed learning. For tutoring, I prefer face-to-face lessons, because it makes it easier for me to gauge how well the student is understanding the material. I try to explain concepts in a variety of ways to find out how the student learns best, whether through repetition, example, metaphor, application... whatever works! I have tutored kids with all kinds of needs and a few with pretty short attention spans :) For piano lessons, I would use the Alfred library of teaching materials, as that is how I was taught and it works wonders on new learners! I'm a fifth-teen year old, currently enrolled at Thomas J. Corcoran High School, where I am a sophomore I currently take IB classes and wanted to start tutoring to pass the time and pick up a little extra cash. I'm drug free and have never tasted alcohol. I try to be patient and usually am. I'd prefer to work with children still in elementary or middle school, seeing as I haven't learned everything yet. I know the basic and more to just about everything eighth grade and below. Typically the setting in which the tutoring will take place will be my house in my dining room area and after that the student may watch television until his or her parent or guardian is there to pick them up.

I graduated high school in 2000 with a local diploma and then went on to college at Utica School of Commerce. I graduated in 2002 with an Associated Degree as an Administrative Specialist. I have worked at a few different jobs and just went back to college again at Utica School of Commerce and got my certificate degree as a Medical Office Assistant.

I began teaching in fifth grade when my science teacher conceded that I knew more about sharks than he did, so when we got to that lesson, I took over for two days. In tenth grade, I had an internship at my high school teaching ninth grade Global Studies. When I graduated college, I began substitute teaching while I wrote my first few novels.
