In a nutshell, I taught high school English for eleven years. I am passionate about all facets of education in the classroom and the real world. I have much to offer my students whether it be a love of literature, grammar and vocabulary or life itself! I love to teach.
My teaching style is one of discipline and at the same time hands-on. Students must feel the relevance of the world around them in order to gain an understanding of what's being taught. I work with the individual but never let the focus off of the competition that's waiting. Students must understand that learning is an every day, every moment experience. It's all about how they see the world around them. I love teaching and working with children. The "aha" moment is what I live for. I believe that EVERY student can achieve what they set their mind to with guidance and persistence.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Henderson State University with a BA degree in sociology and since then I have worked in residential treatment facilities as a therapist, a teacher, and tutor or councelor. I am currently a CASA volunteer in Fayetteville, assisting children who need advocacy in the court system. I have been a freelance writer here in Fayetteville for many years and have had much of my writing published. I feel that I have a strog set of unique skills to offer to this position and I would appreciate the opportunity to talk further about my qualifications.
