My 20+ year teaching career began in high school when I ran an after-school tutoring program. At the University of Georgia I tutored for the chemistry and biology departments. I earned a BS in Genetics and a Masters of Education. I taught biology, physical science, ecology, and human anatomy in 2 public high schools in Georgia. I was nominated Teacher of the Year and earned the Georgia Science Teacher of Promise Award. Since then I have tutored math, science, reading, and test prep for grades 5-12 and college. My teaching style is one of comparisons and analogies. Sometimes students just do not understand the mathematical terms.
