I have taught for many years in all levels of secondary school, alternative schools, and tutoring centers.I eat, sleep, and drink tutoring as I tutor every day during the school year and do lots of research to help my kids in whatever academic subject is causing them difficulty. I enjoy helping students find the writer within them! For example, a few of my own children were reluctant writers, so I developed a daily routine of assigning them to write a full page about anything they desired. The creativity surfaced with a vengeance, let me tell you! Showing the most resistant student how to grab the bull by its proverbial horns and conquer his fear of writing is so rewarding. A Little Bit About Me...

Because of my experience in teaching my own children, I have discovered that no child is too young to learn. Often people will not consider an infant or toddler a "functioning human being" until the child can speak. This is so inaccurate! I taught one of my daughters to read at age four. My teaching style is to engage the student on a personal level through cheerful conversation and sharing of interests, then to assess learning styles, strengths, and challenges. Children perform well when expectations are complimentary to them, and when they are given the tools and nurture to accomplish their dreams.

I am currently an undergraduate student enrolled at Harrisburg University. I will be graduating in December 2010 with a BS in Biotechnology.
