I truly love the field of education. I recognize that all students learn in different ways. I know certain teaching methods work for some students and not others. It is important to teach in several different styles. I have earned my Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Elementary Education. During my undergraduate studies, I was a substitute teacher for Delaware Community Schools in Muncie, IN. I have also tutored at Huntington Learning Center. I am currently working towards earning my Master's in Early Childhood Education.

As a graduate of a liberal arts university, I have a very diverse level of education. I earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and I am certified to teach in Ohio. After college I substitute taught for a year in elementary schools and had various types of learners including special needs students. After that, I was a teacher assistant and pulled out children to help them with their reading and math skills. I have also tutored children in grades 3-5 in all subjects for the past couple of years. I believe that all children should receive the extra help that they need. Often time in the classroom, a teacher does not have the time to give the support of the needs of each student in the classroom. Teachers and tutors should try their best to make sure they focus on individual needs of the students so that they can help them succeed. As a recent college graduate, I feel that I have received the formal training necessary to become a teacher. I have obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education. Over the past two years I have also spent time tutoring elementary school children in the subject of reading, and also spent about 3 months working one on one with various students in a nearby school district.
