Over many years as an IT person, I worked with clients, one on one, teaching them how to get their computer to do what they want it to do. Often times, the client would be very frustrated. I needed to first, relieve the frustration – then determine what needed to be done to rectify the situation (through a question and answer processes). After serving in the US Army as a Russian Voice Interceptor, and raising a family, I returned to university. My military experience instilled in me a great amount of self discipline and motivation, and raising three small boys taught me great amounts of patience. I obtained a Master's in English from Kent State while teaching composition and literature classes and then went on to the Ph D program at UNCG where I completed all requirements but the dissertation. While attaining my genetics degree at Ohio State, I worked at the OSU Chimpanzee Center. After graduating, I started working for the Department of Agriculture in the Weights and Measures division. It was my job to try to "trick" the scales before they could become available for commercial use. I moved back home to Coshocton when I got married.
