I believe that every child has the unalienable right to experience some success each and every day of their lives. My approach is hands-on, student centered and nurturing. I believe in learning by discovery and the use of manipulatives in a manner whereby the student learns without even knowing it. The discovery approach is best to grasping knowledge but to process any and all information is tantamount. Knowing what to do with the information is far more important than just possessing it. I believe it is important to understand that every child is a different, and a different approach is necessary for them to each achieve their highest potential. I believe that every student can be taught to strive for their best, no matter what the circumstance. It is important to get to know each of your students and embrace their differences, and furthermore, to treat them with respect and kindness. All it takes is that one teacher to motivate a child to succeed, and if I could have that impact on one child, then it would be worth it.
