Before I begin to teach I like to attempt to understand how much the student comprehends about the particular subject. I prefer to teach globally and with examples. I would rather the student understand what is going on rather than memorizing a step by step approach. I also have found it beneficial to implement a reward system.

I attended Williams College in Williamstown Mass and studied economics, studio art, and creative writing. Following graduation with a BA degree in 1981, I worked for two seasons as a substitute high school and middle schoolteacher. I covered math, science, English, and the arts, as well as phys ed. I feel that all college students should be well rounded and should take a wide variety of courses. I then enrolled at Utica College to finish my BS degree.
