I like to listen to students and teaching style is by hands on experience for students. Showing and explaining how they can achieve the skill at hand is successful. Often by teaching computer skills or program to help with the subject at hand.
I have worked with children in a pre-school or subing element for years, as well as an office. I am 2 classes away from my Assoc of E.Edu at the University of Phoenix. I plan to continue with my B.S. Teaching the student "where" to look to find answers is big help too, there is reference material out on the web for ANY business related task you can think of.
I have 20+ years of real world business IT experience. Most of that was programming on IBM iSeries/AS400 mini computers in RPG or COBOL. The last 6 or 7 years has been devoted to learning HTML & PHP in my spare time. The languages aren't important, what is key is learning to break complex tasks down into smaller chunks and think logically about how to link all these smaller tasks into a program to accomplish the overall goal.
