A Little Bit About Me...

I would describe my teaching style as learning by doing and not learning by lecture. I like the structure and logic of Math. I have always enjoyed helping students grasp concepts that can be utilized in the sciences.
I have taught math for thirty five (35) years at Lexington high school. I taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, enriched (honors) Algebra 2, Introduction to Probability and Statistics, Pre calculus and Senor Math (Trig and Analytical Geometry) and Geometry. I also was also a visiting instructor at a branch of Ohio State for two years teaching Transitions to Math (review of Algebra for college students) I coached football for 35 years and track for 33 years at the high school and junior high level. After 13 years of employment with the Oklahoma City Police Department, I decided to finish my degree, and become a certified teacher. This decision was due to the Police Department recruiting me to teach various computer classes to police officers. I have taught various beginning and advanced computer classes, Algebra II, and business math. I have also tutored students who have failed high school math classes. Each student I have tutored has brought their grade up to at least a "C" average (from a failing score). One student I tutored enrolled in a class at OU for high school credit (Algebra II).
