I love working with people, and have a lot of patience. I work hard to let the student work through problems themselves before assisting them. A lot of students I have spent time with just need a small amount of encouragement and are very capable of completing their work. I enjoy working with different types of people, and adapt my style to fit their needs.
I started tutoring in 9th grade, and continued until my freshman year of college. I tutored middle school and high school students in math, sciences, and social studies. For students to succeed, they need to be able to have open and respectful communication between themselves and their teacher. Each student brings to a tutoring session or a classroom his or her own self-knowledge about how he or she best learns, and in my teaching I always strive to draw this information out. I work to find those aspects of a subject that are going to cause a particular challenge for a student and those aspects that will come more easily.
