First, I believe the teacher has to be passionate and have a true love for what he or she is doing; this is passion, or lack thereof, is evident when interacting with a student. Second, patience is of upmost importance. In my experience, nothing inhibits learning as much as a rushed or pressured feeling when one is trying to learn. I have experience across the boards. I have taught students from the first grade level to the college level. I have earned a BA and an MA, both in Physics with a focus on education, but opted to take all of my electives in Math and Earth Science, which has enabled me to have a further reaching range of abilities. I did a minor in history for the purpose of understanding not only the science of my work, but also where the science came from.
