A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with all children. I believe each child has a different learning style and the tutor must identify it and use it to help the child better absorb and retain the information for complete comprehension and not just test regurgitation. I am very patient and understanding that a lesson might have to be taught many different ways for the student to learn. My aim is to help the student to understand the underline concepts to think on there own on complex topics. I always set very high goals for my students so they can achieve them and more.

As a student in Health Science, i.e. Medical Technology, I worked in a genetics laboratory for 14 years learning lab instrumentation, trouble-shooting, cytogenetics and professional etiquette. Lectures as well as public presentations of newly discovered genetic abnormalities was my passion. I truly enjoyed preparing and presenting these exciting talks. A Little Bit About Me...

My philosophy for effective education is comprised of six components creativity, character, culture, civic capacity, shared governance and student centeredness. I believe student centeredness is the trunk and the other components are the branches. Each component is connected to the other and they share common characteristics. For me teaching is about making the connection for students between the literature, writing, piece of art or media and their lives.
