Social studies tutor that makes learning fun!

I love to teach, and making learning fun is my main goal. If learning isn't fun then the students get bored. Keeping it interesting is my style most kids love it!
I am a recent graduate of Grand Canyon University with a B.A. in History. I am currently enrolled in my Masters in Secondary Education at Grand Canyon University Online. In addition I am in the process of becoming certified in New York State in Social Studies 7-12. In addition I have 10 plus years of Customer Service experience, and I am currently a Substitute Teacher at Northern Adirondack Central School grades k-12. World History is one of my top subjects!

When tutoring my goal is to have students arrive at the answer themselves with my guidance and support to make them feel confident and capable with the material when they are by themselves with the work. A Little Bit About Me...

I like explain the problem to the students and then let them work on few problems on their own. I would then correct the problems that the students were working on and ask if they need any questions. If the students have questions or if they did not get the right answer I would then go over the problems together with the students and have them practice until they have the strategy down.
I have been working for a local High School for 3 years now as an instructional assistant. Currently I have 3 math classes. I have 2 pre-algebra classes and one geometry. I basically help students mostly 1:6. I have 8 math students that I work with. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a certified teacher in the area of middle school social studies. I am now also qualified for high school certification. I have been working as a long-term substitute in Burlington area schools in social studies for the last 5 years. I have also been working as a paraeducator in special education. I have worked in all subjects. I have a high interest in math, and successfully advanced to, and passed, Calculus two in college.
