While earning my BA in history, I was able to lean many aspects of history. My studies ranged from the Mild Ages to the 1960s and current. I was also able to intern with the Sherburne County History Center where I learned on the job techniques and how to interact with children. Though teaching was not my primary role at the History Center, I was exposed to many opportunities not only to teach but to help others track down their lineage.
Teaching comes easily to me especially with high school and college age students. I highly enjoy accelerated history, critical thinking and exploring the odd details of history. While working on my Bachelors, I volunteered in eight schools working one on one with students, small groups, and classroom settings for language arts. I also student taught junior high language arts. I received numerous teacher of the week recognition when I taught after school art classes. Since graduation, I have been a substitute for all grade levels and subject matter. I received certification as a line therapist for children with autism, in which I advanced the communication skills. My community college gave me the opportunity to work in between classes at the on-site child care. I also have a daughter that graduated kindergarten at age 5, that I work with on a daily basis to keep her caught up on milestones.

I studied post secondary in high school and graduated in the top ten of my class. I was on the deans list every year of my college career. I was a teachers aid at the University of Minnesota for three years in the anatomy department. I was a the lead embalmer for the University and worked for the Anatomy bequest program. I was licensed in mortuary science in 2007 and have been working as a funeral director and Retail manager for the past three years.
