A Little Bit About Me...

Earning a BS in Economics from BYU was challenging and rewarding. To excel in such a competitive field of study required advanced skills in math, statistics, and logic. In addition, having studied the Russian language for 4 years (2 in high school and 2 in college), lived in Russia for 2 years, and tutored students of the language, I am uniquely qualified to tutor students interested in the Russian language. After 5 years of professional experience, I am now preparing to enter a Masters program for Physician Assistant studies in the Fall of 2010 by completing advanced courses in Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology.

I enjoy working with students who are elementary aged up through college aged. I particularly love working with middle school students. I am sensitive to student's individual needs and realize that everyone learns at their own pace and in their own way. When I tutor in mathematics, I try to help students develop conceptual understanding, not just procedural knowledge. I believe that all students are capable of understanding mathematics and am able to provide different methods of instruction based on the student's needs. I have always loved being able to teach and instruct in areas that I am very familiar with. Working the past two years at Eastern Idaho Technical College with the students has enhanced this skill. I recently earned my bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I was in advanced math classes and have studied up through Calculus, testing out of an Algebra II class. I excell at spelling, and earned a ribbon in a spelling bee in elementary. I was also in AP and Honors English classes and wrote a paper that impressed my college teacher so much he wished to used it as an example for future classes. I have also taken classes for 5 years of ballet, 4 of tap dance, 2 of jazz dance, 4 of choir, and 1 year of harp. I also completed a year and a half of college Latin.
