Every person has the ability to learn! I have found the key is to establish a rapport with each student, and then find the method that works best for them. Some students learn better by hearing the concept. It is helpful for them to first have a conversation about what the subject matter is, and how it is used, and then proceed to the actual lessons. Other students excel when they see the concept first, and learn best through visual aids. My undergraduate degree is in Civil Engineering and I have recently become eligible to teach elementary education, middle school science and middle school math in New Jersey.
