Math Tutor! Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry!

My tutoring style is explaining the concept in the simplest possible terms and then practicing a few problems with the student. Then when I see the client has grasped the concept, I move on. I do not believe in rushing the student because I know how frustrating it is when one does not understand something.
I have tutored algebra 1 and 2, college algebra, intermediate algebra, pre-calculus, and geometry. My best subject is mathematics. On the SAT math section, I scored a 700 with the highest score being 800. When I was a freshman high school, I tutored students older than myself in subjects such as Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry. While still in high school, I took College Algebra at Broward College. I got the highest grade in that class -- an A.

Although some students are naturally gifted in reading and writing, I believe every student can learn strategies to strengthen their language ability. Good writing begins with good reading, and many students need training about how to focus their minds during the reading process. Effective writing is also a result of effective thinking. Students often struggle with writing because they have not spent enough time on the mental planning and pre-writing stage of the composition process. I can help students work on a specific writing project or work on their own grammar and editing skills. I can also offer general approaches for helping students read more effectively, study more efficiently, write more clearly, and think more critically.
After evaluating over 7,200 college English papers, I know the language skills that students need to develop in high school. I have taught colle ... read more

I have a master’s degree in wireless communications and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. As a masters student I have tutored the undergraduate students in advanced engineering math. I am very flexible in order to deal with a variety of student’s .As an instructor; it is my role to present information in a way so students learn. Open and flexible.Rule #1 is to listen to the student. Rule #2 is to teach the other the way I would want to be taught. My preference in teaching is to first teach the student the practical side of things. Can the student perform the basic calculations for example so as to pass the exam. Once the student has developed a "gut level understanding", then I can move onto the more theoretical understanding of the topic, depending of course on where the student is at. I try to make math relevant to life for math is a metaphor.
My formal background is in mathematics and statistics. I have been a computer programmer since 1984 for companies including Intel and Motorola. I am a devout reader in a wide swath of topics and authors. My yearning has been to mix scientific exploration while performing a social good.
