A Little Bit About Me...

I have 25 years of teaching experience in math and science at the secondary and tertiary levels. Concurrent with this, I have spent about ten years tutoring individual students and small groups in a variety of subjects for enrichment and remediation purposes. Typical examples of my tutoring/teaching include preparation for college admission, SAT, and SOL. Official recognition of my expertise is seen in my Virginia Teacher’s License with postgraduate professional certificate, which I have held continuously since 1992. A Little Bit About Me...

My experiences have spanned all ages and types of children's learning abilities. From a church setting, to a public school to a driver training car. As a substitute teacher, I worked on developing a good rapport with the students. And was always willing to assist them in working towards understanding the concepts before them. I am very patient and understanding with the children, because a stressful environment is not conducive to learning. I believe that a child should be able to learn while they are having fun and that positive reinforcement can go a long way towards helping develop good study skills.
