Elementary and Middle School Tutoring

2012-2013-SES Tutor, Escambia County, Florida- Provided tutoring for elementary aged students via a vendor for the county, Tutored Reading and Comprehension and Math to students who did not score well on standardized tests. 2010-2013-Private Tutor for several companies and independently, Tutored students of all ages in a variety of subjects at local libraries and in their homes.

While I perfectly respect all of these new theories and methods of both teaching and learning, it must not be forgotten that each student is unique in their style and commitment. A Little Bit About Me...

After finishing my PhD I went to work for Monsanto as an organic analytical chemist. My speciality was the use of mass spectrometry to understand organic chemical reactions and the products and impurities that were formed. While working for Monsanto I also taught College chemistry classes (Organic I and II and the labs). I have over forty publications and forty presentations. I am the author of two books on Organic Analytical Chemistry. I was also honored by being appointed a Science Fellow in Monsanto. After ten years working in law enforcement, I switched to social services and I have been mentoring children in foster care for the past twenty years.
I try to keep the material fresh and I avoid boredom and repetition at all costs. One of my best tools to connect with a young person is through humor.
