At our first session, I ask that each student complete a short quiz to determine their learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc). Every child learns differently and I believe that discovering what works best for each student is the first step towards success. Once we figure out what his/her learning style is, I cater to this. If they learn best by reading, I'll prepare worksheets based on what they're learning; if they're hands-on learners, I'll make an activity.

A Little Bit About Me...

After having been a stay at home mother for many years I decided to go back to school and get a degree in education. I wanted to be able to teach children and use my knowledge and experience to help further their education and life skills. As the first in my family to go to college, I had a high drive to achieve my goals of obtaining my degree at Grand Valley State University, as well as studying abroad in Tokyo, Japan. In addition to my wide degree of historical knowledge, I also served as an independent English Conversation tutor in Tokyo, Japan while I studied at the International Christian University.
