I have a completely hands on approach to teaching. I work with the student to see what it is they understand and what they do not. From there we work through the different areas until the student fully understands what they are missing. This allows for the student to feel as though they have a sense of accomplishment.
I have tutored for many years. I first started tutoring in High School, then while I was in College and lately for the neighborhood children. I have brought younger children up to speed in reading (k-5). I have worked with children in Middle School and High School with their math work. I have tutored pre-algebra and algebra.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught elementary school, full time contract, for 18 years at the Adelanto School District, which included grades K,1,2,3,4,5, and Gifted and Talented Students, Electronic Music Studio, and ESL Bilingual Students, and operated and maintained the computers for the District as a School Site Technology Specialist for about 3 years. I last taught as a long term substitute in Lucerne Valley, Ca, Community Day School for the entire second semester, and have maintained my valid teaching credential, valid till 2013, and renewable (CA).
I have also integrated music with mathematics, science, and writing skills, and taught how these subjects apply in Electronic Music, teaching the math of harmony, frequency, voltages, sound waves, and fractions with music notation, combined with writing in lyric composition, journal writing, and research assignments, and learning songs.
