With a degree in elementary education, I have been successful teaching and tutoring young children. I am especially proficient in teaching reading and have learned several different approaches to evaluate and direct students in their learning. I'm also knowledgeable in math, history, art, science, and computers and familiar with a variety of curricula. I love working with children and helping them succeed. I enjoy getting to know the child as an individual in order to form a relationship with them that will allow me to identify their learning style and interests. I'm a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I attained my degree is Paychology. I wish to pursue my master degree in community counseling. I love working with children. In high school I tutored kids in math, reading, and science at the YMCA in their after school program. While at UAB I gained skills in writing research papers and doing lab work. I also worked with Camp Fire USA in their Links-up Mentoring program. I love working with kids, that's why I got into Psychology. My degree in Psychology has a strong basis in Behavior Analysis. This is what I will be getting my Master’s degree in starting in the Fall. My teaching style mainly focuses on positive reinforcement. I use positive reinforcement in order to increase a behavior of choice. The behaviors we want to increase can range from working more math problems, reading more, increase doing home work, increase studying, etc. An instructional method will be used as well in order increase their knowledge of the subject and then positive reinforcement will increase their confidence and motivation which is necessary for success. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi. I am dedicated and plan to further my education at the Master’s level.
