I am currently tutoring 5 different students for the ACT and each have shown a 3-5 point improvement in their test scores since they began their sessions with me. I consistantly use this in my field I am very hands on. I like to first show how a problem is done, discuss the purpose of each step and then the student work the problem. From there I prefer to have students work problems and ask questions as they come up. After each problem is complete I then review the problem with the student.
