Patient and Friendly Tutor!

I try to engage my students in every way possible. Reading and reciting are great for vocabulary memorization, but I try very hard to bring the subject matter to life in a meaningful way to the student. Pictures, music, relevant historical information- anything to help facilitate learning.

I began my college career admitted at age 17 to a competitive Bachelor of Nursing program at Boise State University. I took courses in Science, Math, Chemistry, Psychology and Health before I transferred to Brigham Young University-Idaho to pursue Horticulture. BYU-I has one of the top Horticulture programs in the country (as recognized by PLANET). I competed for BYU-I as one of the front most students in 2 years of PLANET competitions. I personally finished twelfth of all 900 students competing and helped take our team to both a 1st and 2nd place finish. As a graduate student, I have successfully tutored a number of undergraduate students. I received my BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Currently, I have 15 graduate semester hours including Advanced biochemistry, parasitology, Advanced botany, and Plant development. In addition, I have extensively learned proper laboratory research paper formatting. I have tutored Anatomy/Physiology, general chemistry, and pharmacology.
I enjoy teaching and helping other students understand difficult material. I love to use diagrams and other visual teaching tools.
